Infant Dies After Being Swept Away by Floodwaters

A 3-month-old baby tragically lost its life after being swept away by floodwaters in Zamboanga City on Monday, October 21.

The family of the victim, residents of Purok 5, Lampoon, was among those affected by strong waves triggered by Tropical Storm Kristine.

At least 26 families, totaling 80 individuals, were evacuated from Barangay Patalon after their homes were destroyed by the forceful waves.

Meanwhile, five people were forced to seek shelter with relatives after a landslide hit KM15 in Barangay La Paz.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) quickly provided relief supplies, including rice, canned goods, and noodles to the displaced residents.

Rescue operations are ongoing to recover the baby’s body for a proper burial.
