Couple Found Dead in Bukidnon Landslide, 3-Year-Old Child Still Missing

A couple who were buried in a landslide in Sitio Minalong, Barangay Kahusayan, Kitaotao, Bukidnon, were found dead, while their 3-year-old child remains missing.

According to Major Joann Navarro, spokesperson for Police Regional Office 10, search and retrieval teams recovered Echel Cortez in the Kabakan River, North Cotabato, and Randy Cortez in a stream in Barangay Tandong, Kitaotao.

Navarro added that the search for the missing child has been halted due to no signs indicating the recovery of the body at the landslide site.

The couple’s remains are currently at a funeral home in the province.

Authorities have once again urged residents to heed evacuation warnings during heavy rains to prevent further tragedies.
