Lightning Safety Information:
Lightning occurs during thunderstorms when there is a build-up of electrical charge between clouds or between clouds and the ground.
It is dangerous because it can strike the ground and anything in its path, including people. To stay safe during a lightning storm, avoid open fields, hilltops, and tall trees.
It’s important to seek shelter indoors or in a hard-topped vehicle and avoid using electrical devices or plumbing during a storm.
