Tom Cruise kicked off the journey to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics in true blockbuster style on Sunday. During the Paris 2024 closing ceremony, the Hollywood icon leaped from the stage in Paris, moments before a broadcast cut to a jaw-dropping clip of Cruise skydiving into the heart of Hollywood.

In the clip, Cruise made a spectacular entrance into the French stadium, weaving through an ecstatic crowd before receiving the official Olympic flag from Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and gymnastics legend Simone Biles.

Cruise didn’t stop there—he revved up a motorcycle, flag in tow, and rode out of the stadium. The adrenaline-fueled segment then cut to a prerecorded scene of Cruise motorcycling through Paris, taking off from near the Eiffel Tower, and skydiving into the Hollywood hills. Once there, he emblazoned the iconic “Hollywood” sign with the Olympic rings.

The flag was then passed to Los Angeles-based Olympians, who led a throng of fans to a beachside bash featuring performances by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, and Snoop Dogg.

Although the skydive was prerecorded, the stadium jump and motorcycle ride were live. Cruise later shared his excitement on social media with a selfie from the top of the stadium, captioning, “Thank you, Paris! Now off to L.A.”

A familiar face at the Paris Olympics, Cruise has been spotted at multiple events over the past two weeks, including the opening ceremony. He’s currently in the middle of filming the latest installment of the “Mission: Impossible” series.
