In an interview with Bombo Radyo Cauayan, PMaj. Rogelio Natividad, Chief of San Manuel Police Station, stated that the motorcycle was traveling along the national highway toward Roxas when it attempted to make a left turn.

Before the motorcycle could fully cross the road, it was hit by an oncoming close van driven by Francisco Manwik Jr., a resident of Cordon, Isabela.

Both motorcycle passengers sustained serious injuries and were immediately rushed to the hospital, but Kalinga succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment.

The motorcycle had signaled its intention to turn, but due to the high speed of both vehicles, the collision occurred despite the van driver’s attempt to avoid the crash.
