Notorious Carnapper Killed in Checkpoint Shootout

A notorious carnapper was killed in a checkpoint shootout at the boundary of Barangay Ginatilan and Barangay Balong, Tugunan, Special Geographic Area (SGA), Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The suspect was identified as alias Kabuto, 24, married, and a resident of Barangay Balong, Tugunan, SGA-BARMM.

According to authorities, the suspect was driving a red and black Suzuki Raider 150 when a soldier at the checkpoint noticed that the motorcycle’s keyhole was damaged and had no key, prompting them to stop him and ask for documents.

Instead of stopping, the suspect drew a .45 caliber firearm and fired at the soldier who flagged him down.

The soldier immediately returned fire, resulting in the suspect’s death.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession was a homemade COLT MK IV loaded with six live bullets.

The suspect was promptly buried in accordance with traditional Islamic burial rites.

It was later discovered that the motorcycle in the suspect’s possession was a stolen vehicle from Purok Bougainvillea, Barangay Batiocan, Libungan, Cotabato.
