Couple Killed After Motorcycle Hit by Bus in Dagupan City

A couple was killed after the motorcycle they were riding was struck by a bus in Barangay Tambac, Dagupan City.

According to Pltcol. Brendon Palisoc, Chief of the Dagupan City Police Station, the investigation revealed that the couple, who hailed from Bolinao, Pangasinan, were riding their motorcycle when the bus crossed into their lane while overtaking at a terminal.

The victims were rushed to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival.

Authorities confirmed that the victims were not under the influence of alcohol, and initial findings indicate that the bus was speeding at the time of the accident.

The bus driver is currently in police custody and faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the couple have been transported to Bolinao after being claimed by their family.

Local police continue to conduct checkpoints, chokepoints, and traffic operations throughout the city to ensure road safety and help prevent similar accidents.
