Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa has denied any knowledge of an alleged reward system for police officers involved in the Davao drug war template during the Duterte administration.

The revelation was made by retired police colonel Royina Garma in a House Quad Committee hearing on Friday, October 11.

In a statement, Dela Rosa clarified that he had no idea about Garma’s claim that the Duterte administration adopted the so-called Davao template in its anti-drug campaign.

When asked if former President Rodrigo Duterte ordered him to implement the reward system during his term as PNP Chief, Dela Rosa said there was no such directive from the former president.

Garma disclosed in the hearing that police officers who killed drug suspects were given cash rewards for each suspect they neutralized.

She also revealed that these officers were responsible for planning operations and covering operational expenses.

Garma further claimed that Duterte contacted her to form a task force using the Davao template.

She confirmed that rewards given to police officers ranged from ₱20,000 to ₱1 million for each drug suspect killed
