Two Killed, Two Critically Hurt After Car Collides with Truck

Two people were killed, and two others were critically injured after a car collided with a prime mover truck in Barangay Tajao, Pinamungajan, Cebu, on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Authorities identified the victims as Jan Raydel Booc, a 20-year-old aeronautics student and the driver, along with 18-year-old passenger Stephen Sabornino from Ormoc City, Leyte.

Two other passengers, Rev Alolo, 19, and Jade Engle, 22, are in critical condition and currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

According to an exclusive interview with Police Major Gilfred Baroman, Chief of Pinamungajan Police Station, the victims had come from a drinking session in Toledo City and were headed to Aloguinsan to visit a friend’s girlfriend.

Police investigations revealed that the car was traveling from Toledo City when it crashed into the prime mover truck, whose driver is now in police custody.

Authorities continue to urge the public to avoid drinking alcohol before driving to prevent road accidents.
