Senator Bong Go described the affidavit and statements made by former PCSO General Manager and former Cebu City Chief of Police Royina Garma as a clear diversionary tactic during the House Quad Committee hearing on Friday, October 11.
He asserted that these remarks were an attempt to shift attention away from the real issue he is facing, which involves his alleged involvement in the murder of PCSO board member Wesley Barayuga.
The senator emphasized that malicious and unsubstantiated claims have no place in any credible investigation.
In light of these developments, Senator Go strongly urged the Senate to conduct an impartial investigation into Garma’s allegations.
“Palagi kong sinasabi, karapatan ng taumbayan na malaman ang katotohanan. Doon lang sana tayo sa totoo at tama. Kilala n’yo po ako. Mas gusto kong magtrabaho at magserbisyo lamang sa kapwa ko Pilipino pero kung sariling pangalan ko na ang nadudungisan, hindi ako papayag dyan” [I always say that the people have the right to know the truth. We should focus only on what is true and right. You all know me. I prefer to work and serve my fellow Filipinos, but if my name is being tarnished, I will not allow it] Senator Go stated.
The senator made this statement after Garma directly named former President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go in her affidavit, accusing them of orchestrating a cash reward system for extrajudicial killings (EJKs) of drug suspects during her term.
