Mother Shot Dead in Front of Child by Motorcycle-Riding Gunmen

Police in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur, are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman in Purok 5, Barangay San Agustin, which occurred Thursday afternoon.

The victim was identified as 33-year-old Irish Alcover-Toto, a resident of the area.

Initial investigations revealed that Alcover-Toto was riding a Bajaj motorcycle with her 4-year-old child, en route to meet her husband, who was reportedly in Butuan City.

A riding-in-tandem approached her and asked if she was Irish Toto.

After confirming her identity, the assailants shot her in the back, with the bullet passing through her chest, causing her to fall from the motorcycle.

Three days before the crime, neighbors reported seeing suspicious men on motorcycles lingering around the victim’s residence. According to Alcover-Toto’s family, she had no known enemies.
