Pregnant Woman Shot Dead; Love Triangle Suspected – PNP

Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a pregnant woman in Cotabato City.

Station 2 Commander PCapt. Teofisto Ferrer Jr. identified the victim as Jacquelyn Bendijo Petiza, a 28-year-old resident of Barangay Macaguiling, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.

According to the investigation, the victim was walking when she was shot by an unknown assailant along Melendrez Street, Barangay Rosary Heights 10, Cotabato City.

The victim was hit in the head, leading to her instant death.

A spent shell from a .9mm caliber firearm was recovered at the crime scene, believed to be the weapon used in the killing.

Police are looking into a possible love triangle as a motive for the crime.

Authorities have also obtained CCTV footage from the area to help identify the suspect.

Security has been tightened in the area following this latest shooting incident.
