The Commission on Elections (Comelec) affirmed that the ambush on Bulacan Board Member Ramil Capistrano is not election-related.

Capistrano’s convoy was attacked on the evening of October 3, during the filing period for the 2025 Midterm Elections.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Comelec Chair George Erwin Garcia stated that the Philippine National Police (PNP) has found no connection between the ambush and the upcoming election.

Although Capistrano has previously been linked to politics, the incident is not being considered an election-related crime or violence.
