The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has assured full support for the family of a Filipino worker who was executed in Saudi Arabia.
In an interview, DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac stated that the government will provide all necessary assistance to the family.
Cacdac confirmed that the DMW has already visited the family of the unnamed Filipino and informed them of the incident.
During the visit, the DMW immediately extended support and assessed the family’s needs.
While Cacdac did not disclose specific details, he assured that the government’s support for the family is ready.
Earlier today (Oct. 8), DFA Undersecretary Eduardo De Vega confirmed the execution of the Filipino worker who was convicted of murder in Saudi Arabia.
The DFA emphasized that the government exhausted all possible legal remedies to prevent the death penalty but the evidence presented against the worker was overwhelming.
