Bishop David Declares Cardinalship a Responsibility, Not a Privilege

Kalookan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David clarified that his appointment as Cardinal by Pope Francis is not an honor, but a responsibility.

David, who also serves as the president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), emphasized the importance of service to the Church.

He further clarified that he will remain the Bishop of Kalookan.

The appointment by the Pope aims to bridge local churches and the Universal Church.

It can be recalled that David is among the 21 new Cardinals appointed by the Pope, set to be officially recognized on December 8.
