Former President Rodrigo Duterte Files Candidacy for Davao City Mayor

Former President Rodrigo Duterte has formally filed his certificate of candidacy for the mayoral position in Davao City.

He is accompanied by his son, Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, who will serve as his running mate.

The father-and-son duo arrived at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Davao District Office one hour before the cut-off for filing.

Supporters welcomed them at Magsaysay Park, where the Comelec office is located.

Alongside Duterte, candidates from the Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod party, which he established, also submitted their candidacies.

Duterte expressed his desire to serve and ensure that Davao would be better now compared to the past.

Earlier, Paolo Duterte, his son, had also filed for re-election as representative of Davao’s first district.

Meanwhile, Rep. Paolo Duterte’s son, Omar Duterte, is set to run for congressman in Davao’s second district.
