Man Stabs Father in Violent Dispute in Ilocos Sur

A man is under police custody after allegedly stabbing his father in Barangay San Ramon, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Christian Isaac Torres, a welder, was arrested in connection with the incident.

The victim is his father, 45-year-old Pritzel Pagay Torres, a construction worker.

Responding authorities recovered a knife from the crime scene following the attack.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo Vigan, Police Captain Melvin Trinidad of Magsingal Police Station reported that the two were drinking together when an argument escalated.

The victim, who had refused the suspect’s request for him to go to sleep, was later stabbed multiple times.

The victim sustained three stab wounds in the back and left shoulder and was taken to a nearby hospital.

A hot pursuit operation quickly led to the suspect’s arrest.

Meanwhile, the victim’s other son, John Lloyd Torres, claimed that their father frequently threatens to kill them during altercations.

He stated that while they harbor no resentment toward their father, they accept what happened as an unfortunate family matter.
