Padayao was pronounced dead on the spot after being shot once in the ear by an unidentified gunman around 9 PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, inside Calamba Cemetery in Barangay Calamba, Cebu City.

According to the initial investigation, Padayao was known to frequently hang out in the cemetery, as he had many friends in the area.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, with the leading motive being a possible personal grudge, as the victim reportedly had conflicts with others in the community due to his short temper.
