CEBU CITY – A newly released ex-convict was shot dead in Calamba Cemetery, Cebu City, just months after his release from prison for drug-related charges.

In an interview with Bombo Newsteam, PMSG Leigh Vincent Gonzalez, an investigator at the San Nicolas Police Station, identified the victim as 27-year-old Francis Jake Padayao, a resident of Calamba Cemetery.

Padayao was pronounced dead on the spot after being shot once in the ear by an unidentified gunman around 9 PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, inside Calamba Cemetery in Barangay Calamba, Cebu City.

According to the initial investigation, Padayao was known to frequently hang out in the cemetery, as he had many friends in the area.
