Atty. Harry Roque Remains Hopeful SC Will Consider His Petition Against Contempt and Arrest Order

Former Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque has humbly accepted the Supreme Court’s decision to deny his request for a writ of amparo, which sought special protection against a contempt and arrest order issued by the House Quad Committee.

The committee is currently leading investigations into illegal POGOs, extrajudicial killings, and other crimes under the previous Duterte administration.

In a statement, Atty. Roque expressed hope that the Supreme Court would still consider parts of their petition, maintaining that the committee’s investigation is no longer “in aid of legislation.”

Roque’s legal team also anticipates that the House of Representatives will submit its comment within the court’s prescribed period for the prompt resolution of his petition.

At present, Atty. Roque faces an arrest order from the House Committee after being cited for contempt for refusing to submit documents that could explain the sudden surge in his wealth, which has been linked to illegal POGO operations.
