People have secured their homes and local establishments have been advised regarding their employees’ work schedules.

Pascua noted that residents of Taiwan tend to fear typhoons more than earthquakes, which led to panic buying of food and essential items.

While most homes in Taiwan are earthquake-resistant, many are concerned about the strong winds brought by the typhoon.

As part of their preparations, people have stocked up on food, particularly vegetables and other cooking essentials, anticipating price hikes after the storm.
