Number of 2025 Senatorial Hopefuls Grows as More File COCs

The number of senatorial candidates and party-list groups vying for seats in the 2025 national and local elections continues to rise.

According to the latest data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec), an additional ten senatorial aspirants and eleven party-list groups filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) and Certificates of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) on the second day of filing.

Among the newly filed senatorial candidates are:

  • Inte, Victoriano Tejano
  • Marcos, Maria Imelda Romualdez
  • Sotto, Vicente III Castelo
  • Lacson, Panfilo Morena
  • Lapid, Manuel Mercado
  • Negapatan, Eric Abuyen
  • Manalo, Magno Canatuan
  • Lopez, Bethsaida Domingo
  • Andrada, Manuel Lim
  • Gargarita, Jonry Abagon

The party-list groups aiming to participate in the 2025 midterm elections are:

  • LPG Marketers Association, Inc.
  • Ang Komadrona Inc.
  • United Senior Citizens Koalition ng Pilipinas, Inc.
  • Puwersang Pilipinong Pandagat
  • Ibalik ang Kulturang Pamana Movement
  • Barkadahan para sa Bansa
  • Magdalo para sa Pilipino Partylist
  • Vendors Samahan ng mga Naninindigang Pilipino
  • A Teacher Partylist
  • Apat-Dapat Partylist
  • Abono Party-list

As of now, a total of 27 senatorial aspirants and 26 party-list groups have submitted their COCs and CONAs since the filing began on October 1.
