The First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSRR) team emerged victorious in the inaugural Katihan Patrol competition, a grueling 50-kilometer patrol exercise held in Bulacan, Philippines.

The competition, modeled after the UK’s Exercise Cambrian Patrol, aimed to assess the operational capabilities of various Philippine Army units.

“The Katihan Patrol was not only a test of our soldiers’ physical and mental endurance but also a platform to evaluate and enhance their tactical skills,” said Army Vice Commander Maj. Gen. Leodevic B. Guinid.

The FSRR Team, along with the 2nd Infantry Division Team and the 5th Infantry Division Team, were recognized for their outstanding performance and awarded the Silver Medal.

The six-day competition pushed participants to their limits, testing their skills in military briefing, close-quarter battle, prisoner of war handling, chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense, reconnaissance patrol, river crossing, patrol base operations, call for fire procedures, land mine breaching and explosive identification, tactical combat casualty care, jungle raid, and marksmanship.
