The exact number of fatalities has yet to be confirmed by Thailand’s Prime Minister, though several children were reported dead.

Images show the bus completely destroyed by the fire, and investigators have been unable to enter the vehicle due to the intense heat, as reported by local media.

Eight of the 19 survivors were rushed to the hospital for medical attention, according to the Ministry of Health.

The bus was one of three transporting children and teachers back from a school field trip in Uthai Thani, a northern province of Thailand.
