Plane Destroyed by Strong Winds Due to Typhoon Julian

A five-seater plane stationed at Basco Airport in Batanes was destroyed by the powerful winds brought by Typhoon Julian.

According to Batanes Governor Marilou Cayco, the plane had been secured to two trucks on Friday in preparation for the storm.

However, the relentless strength of the winds over the weekend caused severe damage to the aircraft.

Governor Cayco also reported that Typhoon Julian battered the province on Sunday night, prompting the evacuation of numerous residents.

Power outages have been ongoing since Sunday evening due to damaged power lines, and several homes have sustained damage as well.

Despite the destruction, Governor Cayco assured the public that family food packs and other forms of assistance are ready for distribution to affected residents.
