According to an NDRRMC situational report, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has prepared over P1.9 million worth of family food packs, valued at P1.48 billion, alongside additional food supplies worth P276 million.

These resources are ready to be distributed in the event of severe flooding or other emergencies caused by the typhoon.

In addition to food, non-food items worth P919 million have also been prepared for residents in affected areas.

The agency has allocated a Quick Response Fund (QRF) amounting to P123 million and a standby fund of P171 million to address further needs, should Typhoon Julian make landfall later tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) in Batanes has issued an advisory urging residents to secure their roofs and prepare for Typhoon Julian’s possible landfall, according to the State Weather Bureau.

Although light to moderate rain is currently being experienced in the area, no preemptive evacuation has been announced yet.

In Cagayan, PDRRMO head Ruelie Rapsing confirmed that personnel have been deployed to provide immediate assistance in case of any emergencies.
