Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero expressed confidence that the Senate’s work will not be hampered despite several senators being preoccupied with their candidacies for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections.

Seven senators are seeking reelection, including Pia Cayetano, Lito Lapid, Francis Tolentino, Imee Marcos, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Christopher “Bong” Go, and Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.

Escudero reassured that the reelectionist senators will continue to fulfill their duties, emphasizing that they wouldn’t want to be criticized for neglecting their responsibilities.

He also mentioned that while he doesn’t have any influence over political parties, he will offer his support to the senators where possible.
