Leading the inauguration, Marcos highlighted the significance of the Panguil Bay Bridge, which is now the longest bridge in Mindanao.

The project faced numerous challenges since its conception in 1998, but the president lauded the successful completion for the benefit of Northern Mindanao residents.

The 3.169-kilometer bridge began construction during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte and was completed under President Marcos’ leadership.

The bridge was funded by an almost P8 billion loan from the Philippine and South Korean governments.
