Construction Worker Takes Own Life Over Relationship Struggles, Says Police

LAOAG CITY – A construction worker from Barangay Lanao, Bangui, was found dead by suicide, reportedly due to relationship issues.

According to Police Captain Marlon Lorenzo, chief of the Bangui Philippine National Police, the victim was discovered hanging from a tree, using a rope, at a location he had posted about online.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim had been seeking attention from his girlfriend, as evidenced by their conversations.

The woman had reportedly delayed her replies, which is believed to have deeply affected him. In their last exchange, the victim asked her to call him, but to no avail.

A day before the incident, the victim instructed his family to take care of his mother, an indication that something was wrong.

His family expressed shock at the tragedy, noting there were no clear signs he was planning to take his own life.

Police urged the public not to resort to ending their lives due to personal problems, stressing the importance of seeking help in difficult situations.
