The Philippine Army (PA) has initiated its own investigation into reports of an alleged Army reservist being linked to the “Angels of Death,” a supposed armed group tied to Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

During a press briefing at Camp Aguinaldo, PA spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala stated that their internal probe has yet to find any reservist involved in the group.

Dema-ala assured that if evidence emerges implicating any Army personnel, swift disciplinary action will be taken.

Earlier reports confirmed that the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) identified over 500 Army reservists as members of KOJC.

According to Col. Rey Balido, Deputy Chief of the Public Affairs Office, Quiboloy’s media network has been accredited as part of the Philippine Army’s 2nd Signal Battalion reserve unit since 2015.

Meanwhile, Quiboloy’s legal counsel, Atty. Israelito Torreon, has denied the existence of the so-called “Angels of Death,” clarifying that the pastor does not have a private army, but only private prayer warriors.
