Preliminary investigations by the San Mateo Police Station revealed that the van driver had swerved to avoid an obstacle, causing the vehicle to veer into the opposite lane, resulting in the fatal collision with the tricycle carrying the couple.

Rescue San Mateo personnel responded promptly, and the victims were rushed to a nearby hospital but were later pronounced dead.

It was learned that the couple had just come from the hospital after delivering food to the wife’s ailing mother, who is currently confined.
