Former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chiefs have issued statements denying any involvement in the recent allegations that one of them assisted Alice Guo’s group in fleeing the country.

The former police officials are also accused of being involved in payola from Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).

The PNP Chiefs who have issued statements include PGen. Oscar Albayalde, PGen. Rodolfo Azurin, and PGen. Benjamin Acorda Jr.

Albayalde stated that he does not know Alice Guo and has never encountered the former mayor.

Azurin challenged Pagcor official Gen. Raul Villanueva to name the individual he claims assisted Guo’s group.

Acorda Jr. expressed concern that the reputations of former PNP Chiefs are being unfairly tarnished. He asserted that it is unjust to blame former officials who have not committed any wrongdoing.

According to an initial statement by current PNP Chief PGen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, the police will investigate the veracity of Villanueva’s claims.

If proven false, accountability should be demanded from the retired general, who is now employed by Pagcor.
