Former Iloilo Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog shared a harrowing account of his 2017 experience during an invitation to Camp Crame from then-PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa.

The invitation, which Mabilog received via a call from a police colonel, heightened his anxiety and was soon followed by alarming warnings.

At approximately 5 PM, the police colonel advised Mabilog not to proceed to Camp Crame, stating that his life was in danger.

Mabilog’s wife also received a text message warning of threats from individuals surrounding their home, prepared to harm him if he continued with the visit.

Adding to the tension, another general contacted Mabilog, urging him to avoid returning to the Philippines altogether.

Mabilog reflected on the moment, stating, “It felt like my world was collapsing; I couldn’t believe what was happening.”

While in Japan, Mabilog received a call from General Dela Rosa expressing sympathy and affirming his belief in Mabilog’s innocence.

He emphasized that law enforcement agencies are often exploited for political and personal vendettas, calling for reforms to prevent such abuses of power.

Mabilog urged the House of Representatives to hold accountable those who misuse their authority for personal and political gain.

He insisted that accusations should be validated before public disclosure to avoid undue humiliation.

In closing, Mabilog expressed gratitude to the Quad Committee for allowing him the opportunity to clear his name and defend the reputation of his beloved city, Iloilo.
