The Dragon spacecraft landed in the waters off Dry Tortugas, Florida.

The capsule was swiftly brought aboard a recovery vessel over an hour after its splashdown.

The crew members, including SpaceX engineer Anna Menon, engineer Sarah Gillis, pilot Scott Poteet, and commander Jared Isaacman, underwent medical checkups upon their return.

The SpaceX mission launched last Tuesday from the Kennedy Space Center, reaching an altitude of 1,400 kilometers—three times higher than the International Space Station and the farthest human space journey since the Apollo moon missions.

It was reported that 41-year-old Jared Isaacman paid $200 million to fund the 2021 all-civilian SpaceX Inspiration4 orbital mission.

Polaris Dawn is the first of three missions under the Polaris program, involving Isaacman and SpaceX.
