Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has denied claims that his staff rejected an arrest order issued by Congress.

In a social media post, Roque clarified that, as of Friday evening through Saturday morning, no arrest warrant has been received by his office.

This statement contradicts an earlier claim made by House Secretary General Reginald Velasco, who alleged that Roque’s staff refused to accept the arrest order when it was served by the House sergeant-at-arms at Roque’s law office in Makati City.

Velasco added that members of the National Capital Region Police Office were on standby to assist in enforcing the warrant, should it be necessary.

Roque is currently under investigation by Congress for alleged involvement in the operations of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) in the country.
