Tropical Storm Bebinca (Formerly Ferdie) Now Outside Philippine PAR; Southwest Monsoon Continues to Affect Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao

The southwest monsoon continues to affect Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, while the trough of Tropical Storm Bebinca (formerly “Ferdie”) is impacting weather conditions in the rest of Luzon.

As of 3:00 AM today, Bebinca was located 1,215 kilometers east-northeast of extreme northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h and gustiness of up to 105 km/h, moving west-northwest at 20 km/h.

Monsoon rains are expected over MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and Negros Occidental, with possible flash floods or landslides due to heavy to intense rainfall.

The Bicol Region and the rest of the Negros Island Region will experience occasional rains, which could also lead to flash floods or landslides from moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, CALABARZON, Zambales, and Bataan will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, with the risk of flash floods or landslides from moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao and Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

The western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas will experience strong southwest winds, leading to rough coastal waters with wave heights of 2.8 to 4.0 meters. Wind speeds will range from moderate to strong in Mindanao and the rest of Southern Luzon and Visayas, where coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

In the rest of Luzon, lighter winds from the north to northwest will result in slight to moderate coastal waters.

The minimum temperature recorded yesterday was 26.1°C at 6:30 AM, while the maximum reached 29.8°C at 1:00 PM. The highest relative humidity was 93% at 6:00 AM, and the lowest was 73% at 1:00 PM.
