VP Sara’s Office Budget Cut by Over Php1.2 Billion

The budget of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) for 2025 has been reduced by more than Php1.2 billion, as decided by the House Appropriations Committee.

According to Marikina Rep. Stella Quimbo, Senior Vice Chairperson of the House Appropriations Committee, the committee chose to decrease the proposed Php2.037 billion budget for 2025, leaving it at Php733.198 million.

A total of Php1.293 billion was cut from the OVP budget, with the funds being redirected to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Health (DOH).

It was revealed that the committee met last night following the motion of Rep. Jill Bongalon to reduce the OVP’s budget, citing the absence of the Vice President during the budget briefing.
