Saltwater Crocodile Sighting in Sarangani Confirmed by DENR Region 12″

GENERAL SANTOS CITY – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 12 has confirmed the sighting of a saltwater crocodile near Barangay Buayan, which was first reported a few days ago.

According to Dr. Alan Marcilla of CENRO-Gensan, the crocodile was captured on a drone shot and is now located along the coastline of Lun Padidu, Malapatan, Sarangani Province.

Residents have been warned to remain cautious and avoid any encounters with the “saltwater crocodile.”

Particular caution was advised for residents near mangrove areas in Minanga and Buayan in General Santos City, as well as Lun Padidu, Malapatan in Sarangani Province, and other nearby coastal areas.

The agency also urged the public to immediately report any sightings of the reptile to their office.
