Senator Christopher “Bong” Go has expressed hope that the justice system will deliver a fair verdict in the case of fugitive Apollo Quiboloy.

Go, a fellow Davaoeño, said it was a good decision for Quiboloy to surrender, as it would bring peace to Davao. The senator empathized with his fellow residents who simply wish to live in peace and return home without fear of disturbance.

The lawmaker also extended sympathy to the police officers stationed around the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound, noting that they were merely following orders from their superiors.

Quiboloy’s surrender followed a 24-hour ultimatum issued by the Philippine National Police (PNP) to his camp. The PNP warned that failure to comply would result in the forced entry into the building, where access had been denied.

Negotiations were conducted between the PNP intelligence group and the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ intelligence unit with Quiboloy’s camp. Quiboloy and four others were found at the KOJC compound and surrendered without resistance.

After the surrender, the group was immediately brought to the PNP Custodial Center at Camp Crame on Sunday evening.

It is worth recalling that Quiboloy faces charges of child abuse, sexual abuse, and qualified trafficking.
