President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has issued a stern directive to Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Mel Robles, emphasizing that the distribution of ambulances should remain free from political influence and that every municipality should be fairly provided with one.

This statement was part of the President’s speech during the turnover of 129 ambulances to various local government units (LGUs) in the Bicol region, Central Luzon, CAR, and Cagayan Valley.

The President stressed that the issue of ambulances is a matter of life and death, and thus, politics should not interfere in the process.

As a former governor, the President acknowledged being familiar with the system of favoritism in ambulance distribution and assured that such practices would not be tolerated under his administration.

President Marcos also announced that under his leadership, there would no longer be a need for municipalities to approach the PCSO or politicians to request ambulances. The new system will ensure that ambulances will automatically be delivered to municipalities and cities without the need for political intervention.
