Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte may face legal charges for allegedly harboring fugitive Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, his spiritual adviser. This follows Quiboloy’s recent arrest inside the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City.

House Assistant Majority Leader and Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Jil Bongalon, who is also a lawyer, stated that the former president could be liable for protecting Quiboloy’s assets. Bongalon referred to Duterte’s own admission on Quiboloy’s TV network, Sonshine Media Network International, in March, when the pastor began evading authorities.

Bongalon also suggested that Vice President Sara Duterte and Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa should be investigated for obstruction of justice, as they allegedly diverted police attention during the service of the warrant against Quiboloy.

Quiboloy surrendered to the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) within the KOJC compound.
