Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla has expressed his desire to replace Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco, citing alleged negligence that allowed dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo to flee the country, as well as issues related to visa issuance to fake corporations.

Remulla stated that trust and confidence in Tansingco have been lost. He revealed that he has already discussed the matter with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Previously, Remulla exposed alleged irregularities within the BI involving the issuance of visas to corporations bringing in illegal gambling workers.

Tansingco has yet to respond to the new allegations made by Remulla. Meanwhile, the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission believes there is no evidence of collusion between the BI and Guo in her escape from the country.
