Kingdom of Jesus Christ Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, along with co-accused Jackielyn Roy, Ingrid Canada, Cresente Canada, and Sylvia Cemañes, has been subjected to the booking procedure at Camp Crame, Quezon City.
This process included fingerprinting, mug shots, and blood pressure checks, with some of them showing elevated blood pressure levels.
According to PNP Spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo, the group arrived at Camp Crame around 5:30 PM, was flown from Davao City to Villamor Air Base by C-130 military plane, and finally reached the Custodial Facility around 9:10 PM.
The surrender followed a negotiation effort by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
At around 1:30 PM, an ultimatum was given for their surrender within 24 hours.
A peaceful negotiation, facilitated by the PNP Intelligence Group and ISAFP, led to the successful surrender of Quiboloy and the others.
Timeline of Events
February 2018: Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and six others were detained in the U.S. after U.S. Customs agents found $350,000 and rifle parts aboard his private plane.
October 2018: A former member of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) filed a case in Hawaii, accusing Quiboloy of sexual abuse, allegedly committed when the victim was still a minor.
December 2019: Several members of KOJC filed cases of rape, qualified trafficking in persons, and child abuse in Davao.
January 2020: FBI agents arrested KOJC administrators on charges of human trafficking. In February 2020, they were officially charged with labor trafficking.
March 19, 2024: The Senate issued an arrest order against Quiboloy after he failed to cooperate in hearings regarding human rights violations.
April 2024: A court in Davao issued a warrant of arrest for Quiboloy and five others. Authorities served the warrant, but Quiboloy was not found at the KOJC compound in Davao City.
May 2024: The Supreme Court allowed the case to be transferred from Davao to Quezon City to prevent a miscarriage of justice.
June 2024: Authorities served the warrant at KOJC facilities, but Quiboloy remained at large.
July 2024: A ₱10 million reward was announced for information leading to the capture and arrest of Quiboloy.
August 2024: The Court of Appeals issued a freeze order against Quiboloy’s properties, bank accounts, and air assets.
August 24, 2024: The Philippine National Police (PNP) began a two-week-long effort to serve the warrant, which eventually led to Quiboloy’s surrender.
According to Atty. Torreon, Quiboloy surrendered to protect KOJC members and end the confrontations between the PNP and KOJC members.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police (PNP) announced that Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, along with co-accused Jackielyn Roy, Ingrid Canada, Cresente Canada, and Sylvia Cemañes, surrendered after negotiations, according to PNP Spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo.
Fajardo revealed that the PNP had issued an ultimatum, warning that if Quiboloy did not surrender, authorities would enter a specific building where they had been denied access.
Following the ultimatum, negotiations were held by the PNP, represented by its Intelligence Group, in cooperation with the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Intelligence Service (ISAFP). The negotiations led to a peaceful surrender of Quiboloy and the four others.
Currently, all five individuals are in the custody of the PNP Custodial Facility, and the necessary documentation for their cases is being processed.
Quiboloy’s lawyer, Atty. Israelito Torreon, personally accepted the warrants of arrest issued by the court during his visit to the custodial facility.
