The water level at Angat Dam in Bulacan has increased by 10.74 meters over the past week, according to the latest data from the state weather bureau.

On September 1, the water level was recorded at 183.58 meters, and it has risen to 194.32 meters by September 8. This significant rise is attributed to heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon “Enteng” (Yagi) and the monsoon enhanced by the storm.

Despite this increase, the dam still needs an additional 15.68 meters to reach its normal high water level of 210 meters, which is necessary to ensure an adequate water supply for the upcoming dry season.

Angat Dam provides 98% of the water supply for Metro Manila.

Meanwhile, most dams in Luzon have also experienced gradual increases in their water levels due to heavy rainfall over the past week.
