The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has successfully profiled approximately 30,000 Filipino workers who were employed in the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) industry.

This figure represents a significant portion of the estimated 40,000 workers expected to be affected by the government’s decision to shut down POGO operations.

The profiling process involves gathering detailed information about each worker to determine the most appropriate support services that can be provided.

The DOLE is actively coordinating with POGO companies to obtain comprehensive lists of their employees. While some companies have voluntarily provided these lists, others have required on-site visits by DOLE representatives.

To facilitate the transition to new employment opportunities, the DOLE is scheduled to hold a job fair in September specifically for former POGO workers, also known as internet gaming licensee (IGL) employees.

This event will provide affected individuals with the chance to explore job vacancies that align with their skills and experience.
