2nd Plane Crash in Two Days: Learjet 55 Crashes in Northeast Philadelphia, Killing Six

JUST two days after a tragic plane crash in Washington, D.C. that claimed 67 lives, another aviation disaster has occurred—this time in Northeast Philadelphia.

A Learjet 55 went down near Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard around 6 p.m. local time on Friday, leading to multiple casualties and widespread damage.

According to reports, the aircraft struck several buildings and vehicles in the area, sparking multiple house fires. Emergency responders rushed to the scene as authorities confirmed injuries on the ground.

Police revealed that two people were aboard the plane, but all six individuals on board have now been declared dead.

Dramatic footage from the crash site shows a massive explosion in the middle of a residential neighborhood, with fire trucks and emergency personnel flooding the area.

Additional images captured the moment the plane went down, engulfing parts of the neighborhood in flames.

In an official statement, the FAA confirmed that the aircraft had departed from Northeast Philadelphia Airport, bound for Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri.

The plane, identified as an air ambulance, was carrying medical personnel and patients at the time of the crash.

Authorities continue to assess the situation as rescue operations unfold, with investigations underway to determine the cause of the accident.
