The stars perfectly aligned for Filipina-Kiwi beauty queen Victoria Velasquez Vincent, as she was crowned the new Miss Universe New Zealand 2024.

As the fans call her, “VVV” bested 15 other candidates in the pageant.

Vincent, who represented Bacoor, was one of the front-runners of the Miss Universe Philippines 2024. She was then able to make it as one of the Top 10 candidates.

This was not the first time the 29-year-old model vied for the Philippine crown. In 2021, she was hailed as Miss Universe Philippines Charity, while Beatrice Luigi Gomez took home the golden opportunity to represent the country on the international stage.

She was then offered to represent New Zealand in the national pageant but she declined.

Filipina-Kiwi Franki Russell was first set to represent New Zealand in Miss Universe 2024, however, she withdrew from the role in August after the Miss Universe Organization revoked the franchise owned at that time by Filipino-Dubai-based businessman Josh Yugen.

As it turns out, for the second time around, Vincent will be competing with her MUPH batchmates, the Philippines’ Chelsea Manalo and Great Britain’s Christina Chalk who are both set to represent their respective countries.

Meanwhile, Filipino pageant fans expressed their thoughts and excitement as three Filipina beauty queens will reunite on the biggest pageant stage.

The 73rd Miss Universe will be held in Mexico City on November 16. Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios will crown her successor at the end of the event.
