15-Year-Old Boy Rescued After Alleged Involvement in Cebu Gun-for-Hire Group

A 15-year-old gun-for-hire suspect was rescued by police in Cebu following a hot pursuit operation led by the Mambaling Police Station.

The minor was allegedly involved in the shooting of a 44-year-old woman in Barangay Duljo Fatima, Cebu City, on February 2, 2025.

Authorities identified the suspect by his alias “Son-Son” and confirmed that he is a resident of Barangay Duljo Fatima.

The operation, spearheaded by Mambaling Police Chief PMaj. Michael John Arandia, resulted in the suspect’s capture at around 7:00 PM in Barangay Mantalongon, Dalaguete.

During the arrest, police recovered a .45 caliber pistol, believed to be the weapon used in the attack.

The victim, identified as 44-year-old Madeline Canin Cabahug, sustained severe injuries from the shooting but survived the incident.

Police continue to investigate the suspect’s involvement in a gun-for-hire group operating within Cebu City.
