14-Year-Old Missing Girl from Iloilo Found Safe in Negros Occidental

A 14-year-old girl from Dingle, Iloilo, who had been missing for two weeks, has been located in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

The missing girl, referred to as “Jewel” for confidentiality, disappeared on September 18, 2024, according to her mother, Mylene Magbanua, during an interview with Bombo Radyo.

Magbanua explained that her daughter failed to return home after school that day, sparking a search that lasted for two weeks.

Magbanua noted that their last conversation occurred when “Jewel” asked for ₱50 to buy school supplies.

The mother clarified that her daughter had no boyfriend and there were no signs of frequent communication with anyone suspicious online.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has taken custody of the girl, with plans to return her to her family.

Authorities from the Women and Children Protection Desk of Cadiz City Police believe that the teenager ran away from home, and there is no initial evidence of abuse.
