Thirteen houses were destroyed in a fire in Consolacion, Cebu, after a man celebrating Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s arrest inadvertently caused the blaze. The damages have been estimated at P250,000.

The incident occurred on Sunday, September 8, in Sitio Bangkerohan, Barangay Tayud.

The fire broke out after Dondon Furog, the man responsible, celebrated the news of Quiboloy’s arrest by lighting an egg tray, which was being used as an alternative to a mosquito coil.

Furog lit the egg tray to repel mosquitoes and placed it in the comfort room of his home.

Later, he threw the smoldering tray beneath the house and went to visit a neighbor to share the news. Hours later, the fire started and quickly spread through nearby homes.

The fire left 13 houses in ashes, affecting several families in the area. Authorities are investigating the incident as residents assess the damage.
