100th Birthday Milestone to Be Celebrated by Laoag Centenarian

Nana Liocadia Agcaoili Garganta, a resident of Brgy. Salet, Laoag City, is set to celebrate her 100th birthday on December 9.

Garganta, who is a mother of 10, has three children who have passed away and nearly 30 grandchildren.

She revealed that her formal education ended at the fourth grade due to limited resources during her youth.

Despite her humble beginnings, she taught young children in her community while managing her family’s needs.

She shared that her family survived by selling various crops, including string beans, to meet their daily needs.

Her daughter, Mrs. Linda Garganta, highlighted her mother’s service as a trusted liaison in processing documents for their barangay.

Nana Liocadia attributes her longevity to a diet rich in vegetables and her avoidance of meat consumption.
